1. Who is responsible

846155 Yukon Inc. (North60 Consulting), represented by Tobias Barth
41 Gentian Ln, 11028
Whitehorse, YT Y1A 6L6, Canada
Email: info@faszination-kanada.com

Fascination Canada is the English edition of Faszination Kanada and is run from Canada. We handle personal information under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for visitors from the European Union, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The EU Commission has recognized Canada as providing an adequate level of data protection.

2. Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. The domain is managed and delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

When you open a page, technically necessary data is processed: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, browser and operating system. This keeps the website secure and stable (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted automatically after a short time. Transfers to the USA are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

3. Visitor statistics without cookies

We count visitors and page views with Vercel Web Analytics, a service of our host Vercel Inc. (address above). It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page visited, the website you came from, and your country, device type, browser and operating system. To group several page views by the same person on one day, Vercel creates a hash from the request data and discards it after 24 hours. IP addresses are not stored, and the data cannot be traced back to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring reach (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Section 2 applies to the transfer to the USA.

The website works without cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies for advertising and statistics only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Consent is managed with the consent tool of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It stores your choice in a cookie. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

5. Advertising with Google AdSense

The website is financed by Google AdSense ads (Google Ireland Limited). With your consent, Google may set cookies and tailor ads to your interests. Without consent, Google shows only non-personalized or limited ads. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA (EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

More information: policies.google.com/technologies/ads (opens in a new tab)

6. Statistics with Google Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to understand which articles are read. It records, for example, the pages viewed, time on page, device type and approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. The data is deleted after 14 months. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA (EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

7. Contact by email

If you email us, we use your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete the message once it is dealt with and no retention obligations apply.

Some links are affiliate links and are marked “Ad”. If you buy or book through one, we earn a commission. The link takes you to the provider’s website, and the provider is responsible for any processing there.

With your consent we also load a script from Travelpayouts (Go Travel Un Limited, Hong Kong). It attributes bookings made through our affiliate links to travel providers and may set cookies and process data such as IP address, the page visited and clicks (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Hong Kong has no EU adequacy decision; the transfer is based on your consent (Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent the script is not loaded.

On some pages we show tours from GetYourGuide (GetYourGuide Deutschland GmbH, Berlin) in an embedded box, with your consent. This loads a script from GetYourGuide that may set cookies and process data such as IP address, the page visited and clicks so that bookings are attributed to us (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent the box stays empty; the regular link to GetYourGuide still works.

YouTube videos are embedded but only load when you click “Play video”. Your browser then loads the player from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin) in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which transfers data such as your IP address to YouTube (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, consent by clicking).

9. What we do not transfer

Fonts are loaded from our own server. Search runs entirely in your browser. Links to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other networks are plain links and transfer no data unless you click them.

Our newsletter and marketplace are only offered in German. Their data processing is described in the German privacy policy.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your personal information, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada; in the EU, for example, the authority where you live.
